have been a hot topic this month already. And thanks to Rihanna the trend shows no signs of letting up. The stylish songstress showed up to a number of events in New York last week rocking an amazing pompadour and a very visible new tattoo.

Rihanna, who reportedly already sports somewhere in the family of ten tattoos, told People that her new Maori-style all-black hand one represents strength and love, and was incredibly painful. Is The Tramp Stamp On The Way Out?

Beginning in the mid to late 90’s a new trend in tattoos started to emerge. These were generally somewhat large sprawling tattoos across the lower back of women. Enter the “tramp stamp”. Popularity of this tattoo trend has continued to grow throughout the years and even more slang words for this tattoo style emerged such as; California Liscence Plates, Arse Antlers, and even Slag Tags.

As you can probably attain from the names for this tattoo that there is a great deal of sexual inuendo that a tramp stamp. Popular culture has taken this tattoo fad and pasted its own spin like in the movie Wedding Crashers ; ““See that tattoo on the lower back? It might as well be a bull’s eye.”

There may be some more factors behind this tattoo trend as lower back tattoos are usually designed to accent the natural figure of a woman and is less seceptable to stretching if a person goes through various weight changes.

Is the tramp stamp dead? Certainly not, but it could be a fading trend as tattoo removal clinics across the country have ever increasing appointments for tramp stamp removal.

The same care and consiteration should be taken in the decision to get a tramp stamp as any other tattoo. Remember.. your new tattoo will be there forever, so choose wisely.

Yeah I know, I suck. I haven't been the greatest at keeping this blog updated. What can I say, having 2 jobs takes alot of time out of a day. Anyhow here is my latest work:

"We strive to be worthy of their devotion". I'd been looking for something that would represent dogs in way I loved. (One of my jobs is as a dog trainer.) I stumbled across this celtic version of a pawprint and knew this was it. My tattoo guy did a great job designing the rest of it with the quote. The forget-me-knots are in memory of the dogs gone but not forgotten. I think I'm going to go back and add more flowers above it on my shoulder.
